- #2Acoustic Solutions is just a badge, used by Argos I think?.
What do you need to know?, it should be simple enough to setup. - #3Acoustic Solutions is just a badge, used by Argos I think?.

Nigel. I need to setup the tv for use with a sky box only She does have freeview, just sky. I can get Sky by reseting channels every time I swith on but after switching off I'm back to square one. I have a remote with loads of buttons which I don't know what they are for. I've got the sky remote to to match the tv but have to go back to the tv remote every time I switch on
Many thanks - #4Where can I get help on TV installations or other technical difficulties?

Suggest you don't volunteer the age of the product unless requested. - #5Nigel. I need to setup the tv for use with a sky box only She does have freeview, just sky. How is the Sky box connected to the TV?, RF, SCART or HDMI?. - #6Acoustic Solutions (the company) changed its name to Clarity Vision Ltd in Feb 2008 and is in Northampton. The boss then was David Stobart. This info is from 2012 but try contacting them on 0871-226 8935 or email [email protected]. Be warned the 0871 prefix is premium rate! I also found a local rate number from a business page: 0132-734 2255
They've got a website too, but under construction and not functioning: http://www.clarityvision.co.uk/
The old website isn't working either: http://www.acousticsolutions.co.uk/
You could also try Googling the remote control model number followed by 'key function code list' or 'key functions' or similar, to try to find what each key does on the remote. Some manufacturers do produce these list of codes for all their remotes. - #7How is the Sky box connected to the TV?, RF, SCART or HDMI?.
It is by RF Nigel, I could conect by SCART if need be, I have a spare SCART lead - #8
As an update, the Acoustic Solutions brand is now owned by Argos. I think Clarity Vision sources for Argos and possibly other companies. http://www.ipo.gov.uk/tmcase/Results/4/EU010314888Acoustic Solutions (the company) changed its name to Clarity Vision Ltd in Feb 2008 and is in Northampton. Stick a SCART lead in then, no setting up needed, and a better picture. - #10As an update, the Acoustic Solutions brand is now owned by Argos.
The Acoustic Solutions name certainly WAS owned by Argos, but as far as I'm aware this is no longer the case? - presumably their rights to the name expired?, and they replaced it with Bush. - #11The Acoustic Solutions name certainly WAS owned by Argos, but as far as I'm aware this is no longer the case? - presumably their rights to the name expired?, and they replaced it with Bush.
Thanks to you all, I seem to have everything sorted out now. Happy new year - #12
Nope, if you see the link I posted it states that Argos owns the Acoustic Solutions Brand until 5 October 2021 at which date it can renew it. This brand was only registered on 8 March 2012.The Acoustic Solutions name certainly WAS owned by Argos, but as far as I'm aware this is no longer the case? - presumably their rights to the name expired?, and they replaced it with Bush.
The Bush brand name was transferred to Argos far earlier - on 15 December 2008. Argos still uses the Acoustic Solutions brand. Terry Duddy, Chief Executive of Argos's parent Home Retail Group was ex-Dixons so has probably adopted the multi-own-brand approach for electronics which Dixons also pursues.
I've just bought a new LCD telly from Argos and Gordon from Sky was very helpful but unable to find the manufacturer, never mind the model, to programme my Sky remote. It's a badge job we suspect, only I can't see anywhere what the original manufacturer might be - all the badges say the name below.
Here's the data - can anyone help? Someone else must have bought one of these tellies (although Buyer Beware - only after I got it home did I realise it has only a DVI socket, no HDMI - not a problem as I don't have HD anyway).
Acoustic Solutions
19' LCD TV with integrated DVD player
Model ASTVD 3119WS
I've tried Google, Satcure, Satelliteonline, to no avail. Anyone got any ideas?
Thank you in advance..

- #2Check the labels and the manual. Might be a clue as to the real manufacturer. Otherwise, get a REV8 remote and try every possible code.
- #3You may struggle to get it work due to it having the DVD built in. I have only ever come across philips combis that marry up to the sky remote.
- #4hiya
cannot guarantee it but i have a 32 inch lcd by acoustic solutions and it works with a goodman code.
i emailed the maker and they told me it was based on goodmans

james - #5Thank you for your responses. I have received an e-mail from AS suggesting I contact an Argos helpline - have just phoned it and the chap said that there are no known codes that will work with any AS TV/DVD combis - yet. He thinks the new generation of Sky remotes (due in the autumn) should have the codes built in however.
I'll try the Goodmans route (worth a try..). Any particular code(s) best trying to start with?
Thanks - #6hi mate
i just started from first on list and it was second one that worked it.
ive had a strange one also today all other sky remotes ive tried have had sony code as standard but my new hd remote for upstairs has arrived and it instantly worked the as tv so may be worth ringing sky
