As a result of the settlement, the version of the Wintab driver that GTCO CalComp provides for our digitizer products will no longer be available as of October 8, 2004. We regret the difficulty these events have imposed. We do not believe the drivers infringe Mr. Schumer’s patents (US Patent Nos.

The following is the important information of GTCO CalComp Digitizer DrawingBoard II installation driver.

• Click on Download Now and a File Download box will appear.
  Select Save This Program to Disk and a Save As box will appear.
  Select a directory to save the driver in and click Save.
  Locate the driver file using Windows Explorer when the download has completed.
  
• Turn your computer power off.
  
• Connect the GTCO CalComp Digitizer DrawingBoard II to your serial port, PS/2, or USB port.
  
• Power on the computer to start your windows system.
  
• Running the downloaded file will extract all the driver files and setup program into a directory on your hard drive.The directory these driver are extracted to will have a similar name to the Digitizer DrawingBoard II model that was downloaded (i.e., c:Digitizer DrawingBoard II). The setup program will also automatically begin running after extraction.However, automatically running setup can be unchecked at the time of extracting the driver file.
  
• When the Digitizer DrawingBoard II is first connected to the USB port on your computer, the Windows dialog called 'Add New Hardware Wizard' will appear automatically. (To display this dialog manually, you can choose the Startbutton and then Settings to access the Control Panel, and then double click on Add New Hardware. The GTCO CalComp Digitizer DrawingBoard II needs to be connected first.)
  
• The Add New Hardware Wizard dialog box guides you through the drivers installation process. Click on Next to move from step to step.
  
• A dialog states 'Windows will now search for any new Plug and Play devices on your system'. Click Next.
  
• A subsequent dialog gives you these options:
  Search for the best driver for your Digitizer DrawingBoard II (Recommended)Display a list of all drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want.Please accept the recommended choice by clicking on Next.
  
• The Wizard will then search your hard drive for a file called ... *****.inf (for example Digitizer DrawingBoard II.inf). This file contains all the information that Windows needs to install the correct device drivers.
  
• At this point the Wizard might ask for the Windows CD-ROM, place the CD in the CD-ROM drive and select OK.
  
• The installation process will continue automatically until a dialog displays indicating that the drivers have been installed. Select the Finish button and your drivers for GTCO CalComp Digitizer DrawingBoard II are installed.
  

• Search and consult the Readme file for additional installation drivers instructions for your GTCO CalComp Digitizer DrawingBoard II.

  
  

Depending on the environment that you are using, a Windows driver provided by Microsoft may be installed automatically on your computer. However, it is recommended that you use this official driver provided by GTCO CalComp for Digitizer DrawingBoard II.

Calcomp Technology, Inc., usually known as Calcomp, was a company best known for its Calcomp plotters.

It was founded as California Computer Products, Inc in 1959, located in Anaheim, California.

Sanders Associates, Inc., purchased Calcomp in 1980. In 1986 Sanders Associates was purchased by the Lockheed Corporation, and merged into Lockheed's Information Systems Group. Lockheed kept CalComp as a brand name.

Calcomp Technology shut down its operations in 1999, and transferred different product lines to various other companies, some of whom continue to use the 'Calcomp' or other 'Cal-' trademarks:^[1]

It produced a wide range of plotters (both drum and flat-bed), digitizers, thermal transfer color printers,^[3] thermal plotters^[4] (InfoWorld June 13, 1994 p. 40) and other graphic input/output devices. In 1969, it produced about 80% of all plotters worldwide.

It also produced IBM plug compatible (PCM) disk and tape products. The disk products ranged from 2311 (CD-1) through 3350 equivalents. The tape product was a 3420 equivalent.

Calcomp acquired Talos and Summagraphics, which had acquired Houston Instruments. Microsoft office 2010 and enterprise activator updated october 2015.

Houston Instruments[edit]

Houston Instruments was another manufacturer of pen plotters. They used the DMPL plotting control language. They competed with Hewlett Packard plotters such as the HP 7470.They were purchased by Summagraphics.^[5]
